"I've just had the latest call figures for Vitality sent to me. I thought you might like to know that compared to the start of the campaign, we have had a 412% increase in calls to the service! Smoking cessation is a game of numbers to some extent - the more people we can get through the service, the more quitters we achieve, and this figure in terms of call increase is phenomenal! We also found out last week that we had the highest rate of four week quitters in the East of England region, and by a large margin. We initially got in touch with Perception to develop a brand around our new well-being service. Perception dealt with this request very enthusiastically and professionally. We were very soon presented with seven brands ideas from which Vitality was selected.

Our second objective was to market our smoking cessation service under the new branding of Vitality. Due to being so impressed with Peception’s work we asked them device a marketing plan for all design work and media buying. In our six months relationship Perception have also designed all of our adverts, created leaflets, booklets, business cards and stationary as well as carrying out telemarketing on our behalf.

The marketing of Vitality by perception has lead to an increase in the number of people accessing our services. In addition to this in a very short span of time our brand recognition is quite high. This is a great result for us especially since Vitality was only launched in March 2008.

Who: SWEPCT – Vitality, NHS

What: Marketing, DM, branding, copy and design literature.  Print. Website. Telemarketing. Multi-media campaigns including planning, buying, handling, and all creative.

When: Since February 2008.

Expansion: Since launching consumer response has been overwhelming. Different facets of the service have been added to the marketing campaigns including Choose and Book, Weight Management, Walking for Health, Chlamydia and MEND.

Younger people are smoking. STD is on the increase. Drug dependency is growing.  Few understand exactly what a ‘unit’ is, whether they are drinking too much, eating the wrong foods, not exercising enough.

These were some of the prevailing concerns new NHS client SWEPCT shared with us.  They wanted to re-brand their service in a positive, contemporary way and provide a holistic solution to an escalating problem.
They needed us to help them identify and reach a niche target with a hard-core attitude, within a defined geographical area with specific constraints.

They required a marketing plan, company name and brand, literature, advertising, media, website, radio campaign, outdoor campaign, press campaign, copy, design, execution and handling…

All within an eight week period.

Who: Essex Air Ambulance

What: Marketing, radio and door to door advertising and DM, re-brand, copy and design leaflets, forms, flyers etc. Print. Website.

When: Since April 2007.

Expansion: Since formed Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust, assisting Herts to enable their own Air Ambulance service, and launched new branding and marketing of Flight for Life Lottery.

An accident occurs on remote Essex scrubland at the busiest time of day.  Rescue services are instantly deployed but hampered by heavy traffic. 
Every second counts in the ‘Golden Hour’ – the crucial first 60 minutes of an incident.

Start the Eurocopter EC135 T2 rotor blades - star of the Essex Air Ambulance emergency service.  Clinicians and life-saving support equipment fly to the scene and back to hospital within minutes.  This is the fourth emergency flight of the day, helping to save lives, costing in excess of £2,000 and supported by over 100 volunteers, aircrew and staff.

In 2007 the Charity chose Perception to re-brand, raise awareness, and provide marketing and design support to encourage Essex people and businesses to provide donations, time and suggestions for fundraising initiatives.

Since the project began we have supported the Charity through design, numerous literature items and incentives and hard-working marketing – all on a shoe-string.

Awareness has grown, supporters have increased and the Charity is now helping Hertfordshire raise enough money to fund their own life-saving service.
